After sitting around for months and months, I finally got a border on this over-sized Baltimore album block. This is going on the kitchen wall. The border matches the valance on the kitchen window and the place-mats I made. Now it can sit for a while longer while I work on other things. My ‘things-needing-quilting’ [...]

I finished this just in time. It has to be turned in on Wednesday. This is the front and you can see the back in the next picture. I used up the rest of the animal fabric for the back. If I had been thinking, I could probably have made a checkerboard out of the [...]

Here is the table cloth I made from the fabrics left over from the sudoku wall hanging. I used the same pattern as the green quilt that I finished a while back. It is a quick and interesting block.
Here is another view showing the tablecloth and wall hanging together. You can also see the newly [...]

These are some test blocks I made the other day. I am looking for an interesting pattern for a quilt for the guest room and wanted to use my brown fabrics. This is a pattern that I found in Scraps by Judy Martin. I love the way the dark fabric makes the brown squares float [...]

Over the last couple of [...]

I got the two borders on. The quilt is too big to get it all in one photo, so here are a few to give you an idea how it turned out:
See how it is too wide for the design wall? It was also too long, but this gives an idea of it. The colors [...]

Well, this top is almost done. I got all the blocks and sashing sewed together. Here is how it is looking so far:
I am planning a narrow dark green border maybe 1 1/2″ or 2″ and then a lavender border maybe 4″ or 6″. I am liking it more and more.

This is a quilt I started maybe five years ago. My plan was to use some blocks from the book Dear Jane by Brenda Manges Papadakis to make a quilt for my son Chris, and to use some blocks from the book Dear Hannah, also by Brenda, to make a quilt for my daughter, Jenny. [...]
